Jury Finds Falsely Accused Client Not Guilty of Sexual Assault

We’ve said it before and it remains true: experience counts when your liberty is at risk.

This adage was on display in the case of a falsely accused client of ours that faced charges of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, and criminal sexual conduct. These charges carry the potential of up to 10 years in prison and the long-term consequences that come with being a registered sex offender.

On August 18, 2022, Attorney John Freeman secured a Not Guilty jury verdict at the St. Clair County Circuit Court in Port Huron, Michigan, protecting our client from the criminal and collateral consequences of a sex crime conviction. Following the verdict, Attorney Freeman said, “Thankfully the jury did the right thing. Everyone else that touched the case – ‘witnesses,’ police, prosecutors, and the court – did their best to railroad my client.”

Make sure your criminal defense lawyer is experienced when your liberty is at risk.
