In The News: John Freeman is a Top 100 Lawyer in Michigan

This esteemed legal organization welcomed John Freeman as their newest member on December 16, 2013, recognizing Mr. Freeman as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Michigan.

The American Society of Legal Advocates is an invitation-only society whose members comprise the top 2% of the licensed lawyers in the United States. Candidates are assessed for membership based on a variety of criteria, including educational accomplishments, community involvement, and leadership activity, as well as demonstrated legal achievement and expertise. During the six-month long selection process, those recognized are chosen from a pool of tens of thousands, manually narrowed down during two rounds of screening by a team of lawyers, to decide which nominees will be recognized as the top 100 in their state, and one of the top in their respective fields of expertise. Mr. Freeman has been recognized as one of the top Criminal Defense attorneys in the state of Michigan.

John Freeman‘s recognition by this organization is based upon his distinguished professional experience, which includes serving for seven years as a local prosecutor in the New York County District Attorney’s Office in Manhattan. In 2000, Mr. Freeman became an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office, in the Eastern District of Michigan where he prosecuted all types of federal criminal cases. He also served as the Immigration and Border Coordinator for the Eastern District of Michigan’s Anti-Terrorism Task Force.

Since forming his own firm in 2007, Mr. Freeman has been providing comprehensive state and federal criminal defense representation for all types of cases, some of which have been in the news.  Cases he handles include state and federal misdemeanors and felonies.
